Agentic AI in Critical Infrastructure
A Danish software company in critical infrastructure
The Problem
The company maintains extensive user manuals with each of its software products, each running hundreds of pages. In practice, users rarely read them cover to cover. Finding a specific answer means digging through dense documentation, and most simply give up and open a support ticket instead, putting extra strain on the support department.
The challenge was further complicated by the deployment landscape. The company serves both air-gapped on-premise installations and hosted environments, making a purely web-based solution unsuitable. Any documentation tool had to work reliably across both.
On top of that, keeping manuals up to date was a significant maintenance burden for employees. Every software release triggered a documentation cycle requiring manual effort to author, review, and publish across multiple products and versions. What was needed was an AI assistant that could surface the right answers instantly, operate in an authenticated on-premise environment, update documentation automatically with each release, and remain fully EU-compliant throughout.
What We Delivered
We built a centralized AI knowledge platform with three core components.
Automated Document Pipeline
Each software release triggers processing of Word documents, converted to Markdown with automatic image descriptions. The result is a versioned RAG knowledge base per product release. Zero manual work.
External Authentication
A cryptographic vouching system using pre-shared keys, RSA keypairs, and signed JWTs. Customers are verified against their own servers with zero extra logins. The AI assistant is available in all of the customer's Windows and web applications.
Internal Hub with Microsoft SSO
Employees are verified via OIDC with role-based access. Admins manage system prompts, document versions, and external client access. Built-in analytics show usage per customer, making billing straightforward.
The Results
- Over 10,000 end-users across multiple products and customers now have AI-assisted documentation search built directly into their software.
- Per-customer usage tracking turns the platform into a billable product add-on, not just a cost center.
- Usage analytics provide insight into customer needs and challenges, feeding directly back into product and documentation improvements.
- Used by support staff alongside phone and email to resolve issues faster, and internal teams no longer need to read through full manuals.
Next Phase: Agentic AI
The knowledge platform is the foundation for an agentic AI assistant that, beyond context-aware search, can take actions on behalf of the user, gather insights across systems, and automate workflows directly inside the product. The first agentic functionalities are currently being rolled out.

He has a strong background in open-source technologies, with expertise in optimizing algorithms and AI systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Andreas brings four years of experience in threat detection and ML-based systems for automated phishing analysis in Danish cybersecurity. He has managed everything from server and network infrastructure to production backends with real-time data, and holds a strong background in applied AI and algorithms from DTU. Andreas ensures that our solutions are technically solid, secure, and ready for real-world operations.
